Book illustrations

This Spring, we will be publishing an illustrated book of free verse, Called Bedside Looside. The title alludes to places one best can keep it, with its short, bite-size pieces.

The writer, Dickie Tryon, lives nearby. It tells of tales and anecdotes from his life as a free-spirited traveller.

‘Judgement Day’.

Village life

Since we moved here, three years ago,

I have been illustrating scenes of Gascony. Café terraces, characters at the market and the old boys watching the world go by.
Click here for a small selection of drawings inspired by our nearest town, Trie-sur-Baïse.

Hello Ducky!

This foie gras country. Duck farms are pretty smelly if you’re downwind, but the magret and confit are to die for. I love to sketch them in their huge flightless flocks. All eyeing me with suspicious curiosity.

Wouter Havinga, a Dutch doctor living in England, asked me to illustrate his book “Is your body a mystery?”

I combined ink drawings with Photoshop to achieve the desired effect.

Paint your house, Sir?

I love painting and drawing old houses. Several locals

have commissioned me to immortalise their homes.

Water colours and sepia-tinted indian inks are my favourite media. I also work from photos, (the house shown was based on a photo, taken in the rain and

from another angle!) so email me if for a quote.
